09/09: YOU DON'T BRING ME FLOWERS .......

My earlier post seems to have disappeared???

Anyway,  This is a special Blog message ... as I know David (hubby) gets alerted to any posts I make.

When my Mum lived with us I couldn't have flowers in the house because she said it aggravated her asthma ... even though she had her own living area in the house.

After Mum decided that she'd like to move into a flat on a warden assisted complex and we moved here to Whitstable its been a treat to always have at least one vase of flowers in the house.    But when I pointed out that my lilies were looking a 'little tired' in the week David (hubby) said there was still 'life left in them' .. so I took them outside and gave them a gentle shake to remove the loose petals and put them into fresh water.
Sure enough, they lasted another couple of days ... but just look at them tonight

They are on a coffee table next to his sofa in the lounge.  He sat next to them all evening and didn't say a word  ...... even though petals continued to fall periodically.

I'm expecting that he will read this Blog Post before going out for the day and will return home with a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers for me this evening (!!!!!)   or else

  5. Funny, Sue! My DH brought me flowers yesterday but it was our 26th wedding anniversary - sounds like David gets them for you on a regular basis!

  6. Ahhh ... Happy Anniversary for yesterday to you and Dayle.

David does buy me flowers regularly as he knows they're special to me after all these years of not having them in the house. But we/he is sensible - they're normally from our local supermarket so not hugely expensive :-)
