19/06: UKCPS REGIONAL EXHIBITION, ILMINSTER

If you're in the West Country, why not take a look at the coloured pencil work on display at the UK Coloured Pencil Society's first Regional Exhibition.

Venue:  Ilminster Arts Centre, The Meeting House, East Street, Ilminster, Somerset.

The exhibition runs from 16 - 28 June and will hopefully become an annual event being staged at different venues round the country.

One of my pictures was sold yesterday and taken out of the exhibition as the buyer needed to take it immediately.  That means the picture is not available for judging at the weekend but ... in this day and age and economic climate, buyers can't be turned away LOL

This is the picture which I called 'Reflectivity' and its coloured pencil on pastelmat paper.    Great fun to do and rather different from my usual animal portraits.    It was originally done for the UKCPS Int'l Exhibition in Nuneaton (Autumn 2012) so this was its second 'outing'

One of my favorite paintings of yours and I agree that you should take the money when you can! lol

Congratulations on the sale!

Congrats on the sale ;) - yes, of cause, you don't say no to a sale vs a possible prize.
Very original and fun composition :)

Yup, grab the money and run. Especially with your home in the condition it's in.

I like that picture, not sure I could live with it though.

I can see why it sold, it's fantastic! Wow! Congrats on being in the show and on the sale. But, I'l surprised the show coordinators allowed the piece to be removed from the show, especially before judging. That doesn't seem fair to you. And wouldn't the buyers want to leave it there, at the chance that maybe they had just purchased an award winning artwork as well as a beautiful treasure?

Thank you ladies - much appreciated and sorry for the delay in responding. I'm not getting much time for the computer at the moment whilst trying to deal with insurance company and all the tradesmen who will be carrying our repairs at home.
Looking forward to getting my home back again (probably another 4 or 5 weeks yet though)
